This customer is a leading business standards company that helps organizations all over the world make excellence a habit and has their operations across Europe, US, Asia with 9000+ computers and users.

Business Situation

The customer was using older versions of Windows Operation systems on Laptops, which are encrypted using third Party encryption tools, few of the laptops had the operating system of which the vendor was stopping support in few months. As a result, the Operating system will not get latest updates. This directly resulted in security threats like malwares / ransomware, etc. Also, Customer is looking for integration of these devices with SCCM for management.

The challenge

The customer had decided to replace older hardware’s with latest operating system and rebuild the Laptops which have the older version of operating system.

• After the upgradation the devices should have all the software’s which are presently used by user.
• Users should get their profile back and all the data stored in the local computer and outlook with existing Archive settings.
• Backup of user data and profile to get the profile back in new Operating System without losing data and settings.
• Collect existing installed software details and replicate same in the migrated laptop.

The solution

Enmarq was responsible for establishing the programme of work for defining the migration approach and the actual migration, defining the support model, The migration was focussed on using the existing (LANDesk) tool for Data backup / Restore / build and rebuild the laptops with latest version of windows 10 Operating system, with defined Hostname and join them to Active Directory to a specific OU. Also enable the Bit locker for Encryption on the laptops.

Enmarq has decided to go with existing LANDesk Tool for Users profile backup and restore, and rebuild / fresh build of laptops with latest version of operating system.

• Could-based SCCM and Intune for central management of these devices
• Laptops are joined to azure AD and registered with Intune for it’s easy maintenance of the inventory, OS licence, Antivirus and push policies.
